MILFORD, Ind. (WANE) - A homeless Milford man was arrested Wednesday after being caught shortly after burglarizing a residence.

Milford Town Marshal Rich Miotto responded to a report of a possible burglary in progress Wednesday around 1:20 p.m. at 106 S. West Street in Milford. Anonymous callers were able to give a detailed description of the suspect that helped Officer Miotto find him at the intersection of James and Fourth Streets.

Leroy Harry Zartman, 50, Milford, was taken into custody and confessed to burglarizing the home on West Street. Officer Miotto also found an undisclosed amount of cash on Zartman.

Zartman further explained that he had been living out of a vehicle or living in sheds/outbuildings in the town of Milford.

Zartman was arrested on a C felony charge of burglary with his bond set at $5,000.00. Officer Miotto is still investigating if there are other possible incidents related to Zartman’s vagrancy in the town limits.
