FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) made sure emergency response crews knew how to handle new cable barriers on Thursday.
INDOT installed 16 miles of the new barriers on I-69 in Steuben and Dekalb Counties and 17 miles of the barriers in Grant County.
The barriers are constructed of high tension cable and are designed to stop vehicles from crossing the median into on-coming traffic.
