MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) -- A shootout between police and bank robbery suspects has complicated voting in Muncie.
The Star Press reports that police arrested two suspects following a robbery at a First Merchants Bank in the eastern Indiana city. The newspaper says one of the suspects shot at a Yorktown officer and was critically injured when the officer returned fire.
Police closed roads in the area, and Delaware County Clerk Steve Craycraft says he was told voters were unable to reach a polling place at a nearby church because of traffic restrictions.
Craycraft says he was working with emergency management officials to ensure that voters could reach the church before the polls closed.
