FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  3-year-old Kenaveya Williams remained hospitalized in critical condition on Monday morning.

Police said the 3-year-old girl and the 18-year old man who were shot Thursday evening outside a Fort Wayne home may have been the victims of gang violence.

NewsChannel 15's Megan Reust spoke with FWPD Public Information Officer Raquel Foster and a neighbor about Thursday night's shooting.

The girl, Kenaveya Williams was last reported to be in critical condition and Quantae A. Jackson, the male victim, was last reported to be in fair condition according to a spokesperson with the Fort Wayne Police Department who issued a news release Friday morning.

According to investigators, several people were gathered outside a home in the 4800 block of Gaywood Avenue just before 9:30 pm when at least one person, believed to be a male, walked up to the area and fired into the group and then took off on foot.

Jackson, who was sitting on the front porch was hit by gunfire as was Williams who was playing in the front yard.

According to police there is no known relationship between Williams and Jackson and neither of them lived at the home where the incident took place.

The preliminary investigation has revealed the possible motive could be gang related and police have some leads they are following up on.  So far no arrests have been made.

Anyone with information should call the Fort Wayne Police Department at 260-427-1222 or Crime Stoppers at 260-436-7867 where a cash reward for information received is possible.
