FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The following news release was provided by the Fort Wayne TinCaps Baseball Organization:

The Fort Wayne TinCaps released their schedule for the 2011 season Thursday. Coming
off the team’s success on the field, and in the stands, during their first two seasons at Parkview Field, the TinCaps will continue their focus on family entertainment.

“The fans in Fort Wayne have come out in record numbers during year one and two at Parkview Field,” said Michael Limmer, TinCaps Vice President of Marketing. “We know that Parkview Field has become an exciting downtown entertainment destination. Everyone here at the TinCaps will continue to provide that same high-quality family-friendly entertainment well in to the future.”

In addition to all home game dates and times, the team also announced their fireworks dates, day-of-the-week promotions, and special entertainment.

“We have a record 23 firework shows scheduled for the 2011 season,” said Limmer, “as well as fan favorites such as Family Feast nights continuing on Mondays with a $1.00 food menu, Thirsty Thursdays with $1.00 beer, Theme Night Fridays, and Player Autographs on Sunday afternoons.”

Other regular season highlights include Opening Day 2011 on Thursday, April 7th, which will include a post-game fireworks show.

“Opening Day has become a tradition at Parkview Field, with sell-outs each of the last two seasons” said Limmer. “We will continue to pull out all the stops to mark the start of the baseball season.”

The team will play home games over Memorial Day Weekend as well as the July 4th holiday, with special fireworks shows planned to commemorate each.

The TinCaps are also expanding post-game fireworks dates by including shows on three Thursday nights (April 7, June 16, and August 11) and three Monday nights as well (July 4, July 25, and August8).

“We saw tremendous positive feedback from our midweek firework displays during the 2010
season,” said Limmer. “With over 24 sellouts in 2010 there was a need to add additional shows for next season to keep up with demand.”

Entertainment acts for the 2011 season were also announced, including appearances by Myron
Noodleman, BirdZerk, the ZOOperstars, QuickChange, and Jake the Diamond Dog. Additional
promotional and entertainment announcements are expected in the coming months as plans are finalized.

2011 Season ticket packages are now available, with existing season ticket holders having a
priority period to renew and reserve their same seat locations for 2011.

Groups who enjoyed outings and picnics during the 2010 season will have an early period for
booking an outing for next season, which will begin in the coming weeks. Groups that did not have an outing in 2010 are welcome to contact the team to be placed on a waiting list.
