FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Fort Wayne police are in the middle of a death investigation. Officers were called to an apartment-home in the 1500-block of Bayer Avenue around 1:52 p.m. Sunday.

The man who lived there was found dead inside. Police said the person who lives in the neighboring unit went to check on the 62-year-old because they had not seen him for two days.

The exact cause and manner of death weren't obvious at the scene, so the Fort Wayne Police Department's Crime Scene and Homicide Teams were called in to help. That is standard protocol when such circumstances exist.

Allen County Coroner's Office reported on Monday they don't suspect foul play. The name of the victim was withheld pending the notification of family members.
