ALBION, Ind. (WANE)--The family of a woman killed in a mobile home fire is still in need of funeral expenses, despite claims from a Noble County organization.

On Monday, fire destroyed a mobile home in Albion , taking the life of Jennifer Murphy.   Murphy's husband and two children inside escaped, but the family did not have insurance.  Officials in Noble County said they lost everything.

After the fire, the small town community of Albion is rallying to provide for the Murphy family's needs

On Tuesday, the Red Cross referred NewsChannel 15 to the Noble County Miracle Tree, said to be a hub collecting and handing out donations to the Murphy family.  Stephanie Fisher, vice president of the Noble County Miracle Tree, told NewsChannel 15 that an anonymous donor had taken care of Jennifer Murphy's funeral expenses.

But Wednesday, a leader with the organization said Fisher reported false information to NewsChannel 15 and no money has been donated to the Murphy's funeral expenses.

The Owen Family Funeral Home confirmed that the Murphy family hasn't received any donations toward the funeral expenses and is in desperate need of finances for the funeral.

If you would like to help the Murphy family with its funeral expenses, call the Owen Family Funeral Home at (574) 834-1200.
