FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Indiana egg farmers donated more than 440,000 eggs to the Community Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Indiana on Tuesday.
The eggs came from Midwest Poultry and Bern-Hi Way Hatchery.
“Helping neighboring families in need is of the utmost importance to our industry,” said Bob Krouse, President of Midwest Poultry.
For the third year in a row, United Egg Producers and Feeding America are teaming up in the fight against hunger and local egg farmers across America are dropping off truckloads of much needed protein to food banks just in time for Easter.
The partnership will help feed the nearly 49 million men, women and children in America who are at risk of hunger.
