FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -- After five years, Indiana Tech has officially ended their Momentum fundraising campaign with a total of $29 million raised, far exceeding their original goal of $19 million.
The Momentum campaign was announced in September 2008 after silently raising funds for a year. Its goal was to support academic initiatives, scholarships, and campus improvements.
The fundraiser exceeded its original $19 million goal after three years. A new goal of $25 million was announced in September 2010.
"This is a tremendous achievement considering the economic climate of the past few years," said Indiana Tech President Arthur E. Snyder. "Our supporters have been extremely generous, and that shows how strongly they believe in Indiana Tech's ability to prepare learners of all ages for successful and satisfying careers."
The money raised went towards several projects, including 18 new endowed scholarship funds, the construction of five new residence halls and the Warrior Athletic Center, and renovations in the James and Joan Bard Life Sciences Laboratory, Steel Dynamics Energy Engineering Laboratory, and the Wilfred Uytengsu Computer Science Laboratory.
