INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WANE) - The Indiana Cyber Charter School is now enrolling students for online classes for the 2012-2013 school year. It's open to all Indiana students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

Indiana Cyber is a public school option that offers students individualized educational opportunities.

“We are excited to provide the students of Indiana with an educational experience that is committed to their development and success,” said Indiana Cyber Charter School Board President Jan Myers. “IN Cyber provides student-centered services, the highest quality educators, and leading technology to provide students with academic opportunities that go beyond the confines and curriculum found in many traditional K-12 settings.”

Indiana Cyber features the nation’s leading online curriculum, Lincoln Interactive, which offers more than 250 courses. Lincoln Interactive utilizes interactive videos, games, 3-D graphics, language labs, and flash animation. It also has several unique course options including the STEM focused Cutting Edge Science courses, extensive world languages and elective courses, and Little Lincoln , the nation’s leading online elementary curriculum.

Additionally, high school students enrolled in IN Cyber will have the opportunity to earn college credit through Trine University’s Middle College program. This dual enrollment program allows students to take courses that count for both high school and college credit by attending classes through the virtual school.

“This is an educational program unlike any other in the state,” said Myers. “Every student enrolled in Indiana Cyber receives an innovative, engaging, and research-supported curriculum, academic enrichment services, counseling, career preparation, life skills training, and advanced learning opportunities, all tailored to fit academic and personal needs and goals. At IN Cyber, student success begins the day the student enrolls and continues beyond graduation.”
