KENDALLVILLE, Ind. (WANE) - The school shootings in Newtown, Connecticut have prompted East Noble School Corporation to start using a safety specialist.

That specialist, a company called National School Safety and Security Services, is in the process of going through the district's buildings, assessing its security practices, and preparing a detailed report for the school board.

The district held a meeting to introduce the company to parents at East Noble High School Monday evening.

Over the next three days, the company will look at the district's plan and make any necessary recommendations.

Those recommendations could range from procedural changes to possibly arming staff.

The district also recently hired a second resource officer.
