FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - An alumnus is giving a generous gift to Indiana Tech that willl help the school go green.
Wilfred Uytengsu is giving $2 million for an energy-efficient upgrade of the administration center. The rest of the $3.5 million total cost will be covered by university reserves as well as a federal grant for a geothermal heating and cooling system.
The school says the center will become "a living laboratory for studying energy efficiency."
Doing this will also let Indiana Tech centralize its leadership offices.
The dedication's planned for mid-September and the building will be named in Uytengsu's honor.
