FISHERS, Ind. (WANE) A Fishers, Indiana woman is facing a felony charge of Cruelty to Animals for allegedly killing her boyfriend's dog by throwing the animal off the second floor balcony of an apartment.

Fishers police arrested Sarah, E. Rust, 28, on February 17.  According to investigators, a witness contacted police on January 26 about a case of animal cruelty.  The witness said that on January 24, she had received a phone call from her ex-boyfriend who told her that his new girlfriend had  thrown his dog off the balcony after the two had been arguing.

After interviewing the veterinarian that had tried to save the dog's life, neighbors and the owners of the dog an arrest warrant was issued.
