FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) -- A northeastern Indiana woman faces theft and other charges alleging that she used her dying mother's driver's license and other identification to buy a car.
Fifty-two-year-old Jamie L. Boyd of Fort Wayne was charged Tuesday with fraud on a financial institution, theft and identity deception. She's being held at the Allen County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail.
The Journal Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/Zvhnpa ) that authorities allege Boyd bought a 2009 Chevy Tahoe in November 2011 under the name of her then-hospitalized mother, who died six days after the purchase.
Court documents say Boyd received more than $41,000 in financing to buy the vehicle.
