FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Police arrested a Kendallville man who was wanted on drug and animal cruelty charges. He was taken into custody early Friday morning at a Fort Wayne motel where he was staying.
Investigators got information Thursday night that Ernest Ray Arnold, 34, might be in the area of Dupont Road and I-69. They found his vehicle in the parking lot of the Value Place hotel at 2850 Dupont Commerce Court.
At about 12:30 a.m. Friday, officers went to Arnold's room and took him into custody without incident. He was allegedly in the possession of two handguns, one of which was loaded, and precursors commonly associated with the production of methamphetamine. No meth labs were located in the hotel room.
A 26-year-old female who was in the room with Arnold was questioned and later released. Arnold was taken to the Allen County Lockup to be held on warrants from LaGrange and Noble Counties.
The LaGrange County warrant was for Manufacturing or Delivering Meth within 1000 feet of School or Public Park.
The Noble County warrants were for Animal Cruelty, Failure to Appear for Dealing Meth, Dealing a Schedule I, II or III Controlled Substance, and Possession of Meth.
