CROMWELL, Ind. (WANE)  A woman, who is expected to be okay, was found shot in the abdomen and leg and man found dead due to an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head at a home in Cromwell on Thursday night.

Noble County units responded to call around 10:30 p.m. at a home in the 3700 block of N 900W. According to Noble County Sheriff Douglas Harp, while it appears the man shot the woman and then himself in the head, officials are still investigating the scene. The woman was transported to a trauma center.

Sheriff Harp said that the couple had been married at one point but he was unsure what the relationship status between the two was night of the shooting. He did confirm it was not the first time units had responded to the home, saying they had previously responded due to domestic dispute issues.

As of Friday around noon, the woman was in surgery and was expected to be okay, according to Sheriff Harp.

The man's autopsy was scheduled Friday and more information is expected to be released Friday afternoon.
