STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - Steuben County Sheriff's Department deputies stopped Tabitha and Garrett Ambler's vehicle early Sunday morning. A subsequent investigation lead officers to a meth lab at a home on Crooked Lake.
Tabitha Ambler, 25, was driving when deputies pulled her vehicle over around 2 a.m. Sunday. Garrett Ambler, 28, was a passenger in the vehicle. Police didn't say why Ambler was initially stopped, but an investigation ended with Tabitha and Garrett, both of Angola, arrested on several drug-related charges.
The investigation led police to a residence on Crooked Lake, where several items associated with manufacturing meth were found.
After interviewing Garrett, police arrested him and he was charged with one count of Class B felony manufacturing Methamphetamine, one count of Class D felony possession of marijuana, one count of Class D felony possession of methamphetamine and one count of Class A misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.
Tabitha Ambler was charged with one count of Class D felony possession of methamphetamine, one count of Class A misdemeanor possession of marijuana, one count of Class A misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia and one count of Class C misdemeanor operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Garrett is in the Steuben County jail on a $62,505 bond. Tabitha is in jail on a $10,505 bond.
The Indiana State Police Meth Suppression Section's Clandestine Lab Team assisted in the investigation.
