FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating after an armed robbery at a Fort Wayne motel happened early Friday morning.
Officials said it happened around 2:00 a.m. at the Econolodge on Challenger Parkway.
Authorities said they received conflicting stories about how a man and woman met up with three suspects. The suspects allegedly tied the couple up and cut the phones lines in their room.
Officials said the suspects then sexually assaulted the woman, before driving off with cash and other items.
Shortly after, police pulled over a vehicle with a similar description to what they had been given on Portage Boulevard near Ardmore.
Officers were able to determine the men inside the vehicle were the three suspects from the incident and they were arrested.
