WARSAW, Ind. (WANE) – The Warsaw Police Department has made two arrests stemming from a July 30 police chase following a drug transaction.
According to a police report, police arrested Brandon Adkins, 27, Warsaw, and Tiffany Anderson, 30, Warsaw, on charges of conspiracy to deal in methamphetamine and fleeing law enforcement, both felonies.
Authorities said detectives were involved in a drug transaction on July 30 with Adkins. After making a traffic stop, Adkins fled in a car north of Warsaw. During the pursuit, one person jumped from the vehicle and was transported to a Fort Wayne hospital and released.
The report said charges have not been filed against the third person, but the investigation is continuing and future charges could be filed.
The third person has not been identified.
Leading up to the arrests, police said they had last made contact with Adkins and Anderson in Westfield the night of the chase by telephone. Westfield is a suburb of Indianapolis.
Adkins and Anderson, along with a third person, traveled to Lakeland, Florida. Police located a relative's address in Lakeland, but were unable to make contact with the two suspects, according to the report.
On Aug. 12, police said Adkins and Anderson led Tennessee police on a high speed chase after the vehicle was checked along the road. The two apparently fled after they were "scrutinized," according to the police statement.
Adkins and Anderson then contacted Warsaw police on Aug. 13 and made arrangements to turn themselves in.
Police said on Aug. 14 both Adkins and Anderson were located and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail.
The case remains under investigation.
