AUBURN, Ind. (AP) -- Court documents say a northeastern Indiana couple suspected of being involved in the shooting of a Waterloo deputy marshal had a revolver, two rifles and ammunition in their abandoned car.

The Journal Gazette reports ( http://bit.ly/vGNLsN ) that DeKalb County court documents show 41-year-old Ralph Hardiek and 33-year-old Julie Marie King were well-armed on Dec. 15. That's when Stephen Brady was shot in the face.

State police say he was shot while responding to a report of a couple with a car in a ditch. Three hours after the shooting, police found a couple hiding behind a Waterloo house. Police say Hardiek pointed a gun at police and was shot and killed. King was seriously wounded.

State police Sgt. Ron Galaviz says no charges have been filed because King remains hospitalized.
