FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Fort Wayne police are investigating a shooting in the 4100 block of Oliver Street Wednesday.
Around 4:30 p.m., police received a 911 call after someone heard several gunshots.
Police told NewsChannel 15 there was gunfire between three men in a car and two men on a sidewalk.
According to police, witnesses told them the men in the car were driving north on Oliver Street when they turned around near the men on the sidewalk and gunfire was exchanged.
One man was shot in the shoulder and was last known to be in serious condition.
Police said the car attempted to get away but crashed into a parked vehicle and the men inside attempted to flee. One person is in custody police believe to be involved in the incident. Officials believe the man who was shot was initially on the sidewalk.
The incident remains under investigation.
