FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Fort Wayne police were called to a shooting that happened around 4:15 p.m. Saturday in the 7900-block of Serenity Drive.
Police said witnesses told them they heard two different spurts of gunfire.
When police arrived, they found two victims. One adult man was inside a vehicle. Police said medics pronounced him dead at the scene. The second victim was found inside an apartment. That adult man was taken to a hospital in serious condition.
Police used a K9 unit at the scene to try to track the suspects, but it was unsuccessful.
Police have identified the homicide victim as 30-year-old Jermaine Foster, of Fort Wayne.
Investigators are trying to piece together exactly what happened. There are no suspects in custody. Police are talking to several witnesses and neighbors. Crime Scene technicians are also collecting and analyzing evidence found at the scene.
Police ask anyone who was there and left the scene before police arrived to call them at (260) 427-1201.
Foster is the second homicide victim in Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2013.
