WARSAW, Ind. (WANE) - Police said a man attempted to rob Freedom Express gas station in Warsaw Saturday afternoon, but then came back to the gas station to apologize.

According to police, Joseph Bradley, 53, of Claypool, entered the gas station at around 4:45 p.m. and told the attendant that he had a gun. He demanded all of the money in the register and left on foot without any money.

The gas station attendant called police a little while later and said Bradley had returned to the gas station and was in a red pick-up truck. Police arrested Bradley at the scene.

Bradley told police in an interview that he was joking and did not have a gun. He also said he intended to rob the gas station but then he felt bad afterwards, so he returned to apologize to the attendant.

According to police, Bradley was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail for attempted robbery, a class C felony.
