Robber ordered to pay bank back nearly $11,000

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The young man who robbed the Chase Bank on E State Blvd. back in November was sentenced in Allen Superior Court Monday.

According to court documents, Dajuan C. Cooper, 20, of Fort Wayne, went into the bank on November 20 and handed the teller a note demanding money. A Fort Wayne Police Department spokesman said Cooper did not have a weapon at the time of the robbery.

Court documents said Cooper fled on foot with $10,782 in cash.

Police arrested Cooper on December 18 on a single count of robbery.

Cooper was charged with a class C felony county of robbery and plead guilty to the charge on February 19.

According to our partners in news, The News Sentinel , in accordance with the plea agreement, Cooper was given a six-year sentence; four years to be served, two years suspended and two years of probation. Among the terms of his probation, he must pay back Chase Bank for the money the stole.
