FORT WAYNE, Ind.(WANE) Police are offering a $2,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest of the subjects responsible for the robbery. Anyone with information is asked to call the Fort Wayne Police Department at 260-427-1222 or the local FBI office at 260-426-5331.
Officials hope the dramatic video released showing a masked robber forcing a credit union employee at gunpoint to open a safe during a holdup Thursday morning will help them find the suspects.
The robbery took place at around 8:40 a.m. at the Midwest America Federal Credit Union located at 1021 Swinney Avenue.
According to police on the scene, two men managed to get into the credit union before it had opened. Employees said they were approached by the men who were wearing dark hooded sweatshirts and masks. The robbers forced the employees inside the building at gun point.
One of the men is shown on surveillance video forcing an employees to open a safe.
Officials are not sure in which direction the suspects left or if they left on foot or in a vehicle.
None of the employees in the bank at the time of the robbery were injured.
This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department's Bank Robbery Task Force and the Allen County Prosecutors Office.
