FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Police believe Friday’s early morning gas station robberies are related.
The first armed robbery happened at the BP gas station at the corner of Coliseum Boulevard and North Clinton Street at around 4:45 a.m.
Officers said two men went into the store and one man put a gun to the gas station clerk's head. The male clerk was hit on the head, but his injuries were not serious.
According to police, the suspects took the cash register itself and the clerk's wallet before they left.
The second armed robbery happened at the Marathon gas station in the 6500 block of Lima Road at around 6:45 a.m.
Police said two men entered the gas station with handguns and demanded money from the cashier. The suspects took an unknown amount of cash and then left.
According to police, the suspects did get away with cash during both of the armed robberies.
