Police searching for robbery suspect

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Police are searching for the man who robbed the Family Dollar on E. Paulding Road Sunday afternoon.

Officers on the scene said a man went into the store wearing a mask around 12:30 p.m.

Police said he hopped the counter and demanded money. He also told the employee he had a weapon.

The suspect left the scene with an unknown amount of money.

Witnesses told police they saw they man leave and go into a field to the southeast of the store.

Officers are now searching that area for the suspect.
