FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - A man was grazed by a bullet Wednesday morning when at least 11 shots fired in his direction while he mowed his yard.
Fort Wayne police received several 911 calls around 10:13 a.m. reporting shots fired at Euclid and Pettit Avenues.
According to police, two people pulled up in front of 4620 Euclid Ave. in a tan vehicle and the passenger started shooting a handgun. The man mowing grass saw the vehicle approaching and started to run. It's unknown whether the shooter and victim exchanged words.
A home and truck were struck by bullets at a neighboring home. The homeowner, Deloris McKee, said she was sweeping her kitchen floor when one of the bullets shot through her window coming within feet of hitting her.
Officers spotted the tan vehicle in the area but it quickly left the scene. A short pursuit ended a half mile from the shooting scene at the intersection of Anthony Blvd. and McKinnie Ave.
Police took the driver of the vehicle into custody. The passenger who was considered the shooting suspect took off running. K-9 units began to track the suspect who remained at-large as of Wednesday afternoon
