FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Fort Wayne police are investigating an armed robbery at the Subway at Gateway Plaza on Goshen Road.

Around 6:45 Monday morning, police said a man walked into the Subway and ordered a sandwich. When the female employee rang up the order and opened the register, the man covered his face with a black bandana, pointed a gun at her and demanded cash.

The employee followed the suspect's orders. After she handed the money over, she was ordered on the floor by the suspect. The suspect got away with the money.

Police initiated a canvas of the surrounding area and neighborhoods but were unable to locate the man.

Police said they are looking for a light-skinned black male in his early-twenties with a faded mustache who is between 5-feet-5-inches and 5-feet-7-inches tall. He is believed to have been wearing dark or black pants, a gray shirt hoodie sweatshirt, a Rockwear black and gray 'bomber' hat and purple latex gloves.

The incident remains under investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call Fort Wayne Police or Crime Stoppers.
