NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WANE) - Noblesville police are looking for a man they said forced his way into a woman's apartment and attacked her.
Police said they were called to Prairie Lakes apartments in Noblesville around 11:45 a.m. Sunday. The caller, who is also the victim, said the incident actually happened around 2 a.m.
The woman said she had walked out of her apartment to get something from her vehicle which was parked right outside her apartment door. She said she then went back to her apartment. As she was closing her front door, the woman said she was confronted by a man in the doorway.
She told police she tried to close the door, but the suspect forced his way into her apartment. Just inside the door, the woman said the man assaulted her and then forced her to the floor. The woman said once she was on the floor, the man threatened her with a handgun.
The woman said she kept defending herself and was able to force the man off of her. She said he then ran back out the front door.
Police are still looking for the suspect. He's described as a black man about 5'10" to 6' tall weighing around 180-220 pounds with a muscular build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and a black ski mask.
The victim said she had minor injuries from the attack but refused medical attention.
The case is still under investigation. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Detective Mike Sadler, Criminal Investigation Division, at (317) 776-6371 or tips@noblesville.in.us.
