FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Three credit union employees were tied up and battered Thursday morning when three men robbed the ProFed Credit Union on Stellhorn Road.
Around 8:15 two female employees were inside the credit union preparing to open when a third female employee was walking into the credit union. Three men grabbed the third employee and forced her inside the building.
Police said the three suspects bound the women at their hands and ankles and battered them. Shots were fired inside ProFed but nobody was hurt.
A man who was waiting in the drive-thru saw the robbery and called police. The three suspects ran into a near-by housing addition.
Police said the men got away with cash but didn’t know how much.
Croninger Elementary School, Jefferson Middle School, and Snider High School were all on lockdown because of the robbery.
The FBI announced that a $5,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the three suspects involved in the robbery.
Anyone who has information about the robbery is asked to contact the Fort Wayne Office of the FBI at (260) 426-5331, or Crime Stoppers at (260) 436-STOP (7867). A cash reward is possible for information received.
