FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Police said a homeowner shot at an armed burglar after he caught the man trying to break into his home.

According to our partners in news, the News-Sentinel, police got a call about a burglary in progress at around 10:20 a.m. Friday.

Police said a man living at the home, located at the 1600 block of Emerson Avenue, just north of Spring Street, found the suspect breaking into his house and shot at the would-be burglar several times. The suspect then ran from the scene.

Police don't believe any of the shots hit the suspect.

If you know anything about this incident, call the Fort Wayne Police Department.
