FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Fort Wayne police are investigating a reported abduction of a man from his Pointe Inverness apartment on Thursday night.

According to Fort Wayne Police Department Spokesperson Sergeant Mark Brooks, a man told police he was approached by another man at his apartment at Point Inverness near the 7000-block of Pointe Inverness Way around 7:30 p.m.

The victim said he was forced into his apartment and had his hands bound in duct tape. The apartment was ransacked, but police said nothing appeared to be missing.

The victim told police he was then forced into his car, a black 2004 Chrysler, and the suspect dropped him off in Columbia City and took off in the car.

Police said the vehicle is missing.

The incident remains under investigation.

The apartment complex sent a letter to residents on Friday afternoon urging them to report any suspicious activity to authorities immediately.
