Police arrest seven people on drug charges

AUBURN, Ind. (WANE) - Police arrested seven people on drug related charges on Monday morning after a six month investigation.

Police said around 6:00 a.m., members of the IMAGE Drug Task Force were assisted by the Auburn Police Department, DeKalb County Sherriff’s Department, Noble County Sheriff‘s Department and Albion Police Department, to serve DeKalb County arrest warrants on nine people.

As of 11:00 a.m. on Monday, police have located and arrested the following people:

  • Erich Zumbaugh, 19, of Auburn, was charged with two class C felonies, Dealing in Marijuana, Hash Oil, Hashish, Salvia or a Synthetic Drug. Officers also located items associated with illegal drug use at Zumbaugh's residence and additional charges against Zumbaugh are pending.
  • Emily High, 20, of Auburn was not part of the investigation but was found with Erich Zumbaugh. High was arrested and charged with Visiting a Common Nuisance, a class B misdemeanor. 
  • Paul Turner, 32, of St. Joe, was charged with two class B felonies, Dealing in Schedule II Controlled Substance
  • Gavin Monroe, 22, of Park Garrett, was charged with one class D felony, Dealing in Marijuana, Hash Oil, Hashish, Salvia or a Synthetic Drug
  • Jeffery Pippenger, 57, of St. Albion, was charged with two class B felonies, Dealing in a Schedule I, II or III Controlled Substance. He was being housed at Westville Department of Corrections on unrelated charges.
  • James Damron, 25, of Butler, was charged with three felonies, dealing in Cocaine or a Narcotic Drug. He was being housed at the DeKalb County Jail on unrelated charges.
  • Justin Parker, 23, of Auburn, was charged with one class D felony, Maintaining a Common Nuisance.

Police are still searching for three other people on multiple drug related charges.
