CELINA, Ohio (WANE) - Police in Celina, Ohio arrested a man who apparently shot his wife in the hand after the two had gotten high on bath salts and he began hallucinating.

Officer's were called to the home of William Cartwright, 46, on Saturday morning after getting word a loud argument was underway.  When they arrived at the home located at 430 W. Anthony Street, they found bullet holes in the walls and the home in disarray.

Cartwright's wife, Valerie, 32, was suffering from a gunshot wound to the hand.  Police believe the two had gotten high on bath salts and they began to hallucinate.  William Cartwright grabbed a gun and began firing at something he apparently had imagined.  That's when his wife was shot.  Valeries Cartwright was treated and released from Mercer Health in Coldwater.

William Cartwright was formally charged with one count of Possession of a Weapon under Disability third degree felony. Cartwright has a previous conviction for Trafficking in Drugs, in Auglaize County. That conviction prevents him from owning, possessing or having a firearm.
