FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Michael Plumadore, the man accused of killing and dismembering 9-year-old Aliahna Lemmon days before Christmas last year, appeared in an Allen County courtroom Monday morning to have his trial date set.
A judge set aside the dates of June 18 to 22 for the trial.
A pre-trial hearing has been scheduled for April 16 at 10 am.
Plumadore was in court Jan. 18 for a hearing and a trial date was expected to be set at that appearance. Both the prosecution and defense teams agreed to wait and schedule the start date Monday, Feb. 27.
His initial court appearance was on January 4. Dozens of Allen County officers were on hand when he was moved to the courthouse because of threats against his safety.
The judge entered a not guilty plea on Plumadore's behalf.
Plumadore has two public defenders assigned to his case, According to a news release from the Public Defender’s Office, attorneys, Anthony S. Churchward and Mark A. Thoma will represent Plumadore.
It is not known if the Allen County Prosecutor's Office will seek the death penalty in the case.
