ANGOLA, Ind. (WANE) - A Pioneer, Ohio man is facing several charges after a traffic stop and struggle with police early Friday morning in Angola.
According to a Steuben County Sheriff's Department report, sheriff's deputies were assisting the Angola Police Department with a traffic stop on Harcourt Road when the driver become unruly with officers.
The driver, Steven Lashaway, 22, Pioneer, Ohio, began verbally and physically resisting officers, according to the report. During the struggle, Lashaway reached for a deputy's firearm. The report said officers deployed a taser on Lashaway.
Lashaway was taken into custody without further incident.
He was transported to the Steuben County Jail and booked on charges of resisting law enforcement, disorderly conduct, and public intoxication.
The report did not state why Lashaway was initially pulled over.
