FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) -- A northeastern Indiana woman has pleaded guilty to neglecting her 78-year-old grandmother, who was found disoriented with bruises and cuts in her home.

Thirty-three-year-old Melanie McKinley of Fort Wayne pleaded guilty Monday in Allen County to felony neglect of a dependent and admitted to neglecting her grandmother, who was in her care.

The Journal Gazette reports that McKinley faces either two years in prison, work release or community corrections when she's sentenced next month.

Prosecutors say McKinley's grandmother was found disoriented and alone at her home in October 2011 with numerous bruises and blood on her nose.  Her home also had wires across the floor and an open door to the basement staircase.
