WARSAW, Ind. (WANE) - Warsaw police arrested three people on drug related charges involving Methamphetamine in Warsaw early Wednesday morning. A man connected to the drug arrests was also arrested with outstanding warrants.

At around 12:40 a.m. Wednesday, Warsaw police pulled over a van with the rear hatch open and no visible license plate.

Police said Shanelle Byrer, 18, of Warsaw, was driving the van but did not have a driver's license. Byrer dumped the belongings of her purse out to search for an identification when police saw a clear plastic baggy containing a white powdery substance, which tested positive for meth.

Police said they also found a burnt glass tube with burnt residue on it in Byrer's cigarette pack.

Byrer was arrested and charged with possession of Methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, and operator never licensed.

Police said Byrer had two passengers in the van, Mary Howard 44, of Warsaw, and Troy Howard, 45, of Warsaw.

A clear plastic baggy containing a white powdery substance which tested positive for meth was found in Mary Howard's pocketbook. She was arrested and charged with possession of Methamphetamine.

Police said Troy Howard gave the police a fake name until officers found his wallet with his real identification. Two active warrants were out for Troy Howard for child support with a $53,000 cash bond.

Howard was arrested on the warrants and was also charged with false informing.

Police said a two-year-old child was also in the van. Child Protective Services was notified and the child was released to a family member.

In a separate incident, Warsaw police received information that a person was manufacturing and selling Methamphetamine on Smith St. in Warsaw across from Lakeview Middle School.

Police said undercover officers bought meth from Michael Hackworth, 36, of Warsaw, at the Smith St. location on Wednesday night.

Officers found finished meth product and precursors to the manufacture of meth.

Police said they also found a trailer at Suburban Acres Mobile Home Park north of Warsaw where several active meth labs were found.

Indiana State Police and Warsaw Police disposed of the labs.

Police said Hackworth was charged with a class A felony of dealing Methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school. Additional charges may be filed.
