FLINT, Mich. (AP) -- Authorities say they arrested a Flint man after he led them on a drunken car chase with two young children in the backseat.
Genesee Sheriff Robert Pickell tells The Flint Journal (http://bit.ly/WFlei1 ) the chase took place early Sunday after authorities responded to a report of a driver slumped in the front seat of a car in a Flint parking lot.
The man was found sleeping behind the wheel with the children ages 1 and 3 inside. Pickell says the man awoke and took off.
Authorities say the driver hit speeds upward of 60 mph before stopping about a mile away. Pickell says the driver's blood-alcohol content was more than three times the legal limit in Michigan.
The children weren't injured. Charges are pending. The man's name wasn't immediately released.
