KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) Officials in Kosciusko County are investigating a stabbing that left a man in serious condition.
According to Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department (KCSD) detectives, Travis Ray Osbun, 33 of North Webster, had been in a fight with his girlfriend and went to Billy Joe Pearson's residence to cool off. Pearson, 19, of Leesburg, allegedly became tired of Osbun and asked him to leave. According to information the KCSD collected, Osbun refused to leave and Pearson then began stabbing him.
Police responded to several 911 calls around 1 a.m. on Friday after witnesses said a man had come to their door bleeding and asking for shelter. Callers said that the victim, Osbun, would try to leave the area if he found out anyone had called 911.
KCSD officers and a Warsaw Police Department canine unit arrived on the scene and found Osbun just outside his house with four stab wounds to the chest area. Osbun was immediately transported to Lutheran Memorial Hospital.
Pearson was found at his house on the 4000 block of N. County Road 850 East and arrested him without incident.
Pearson has been preliminarily charged with felony aggravated battery and does not have a bond set.
