CELINA, Ohio (WANE) The Celina Police Department is investigating a report of a robbery that involved an elderly man being forced to drive to a bank to withdraw money.
According to police, a man came to the front door of the home of Paul Billerman, 77, on Tuesday, October 9 and Billerman let him in. The suspect threatened Billerman and forced him to drive to a Chase Bank, where he used the drive-thru lane to get cash from his account.
He then had Billerman drive him to West Logan Street around 8:45 a.m. and drop him off near the Celina Wine Store.
Once Billerman returned home he called someone at the bank, who in turn called police. Officers checked the area where the suspect was dropped off and tried to track him with a K-9 unit, but didn't find him.
The suspect was wearing a dark blue or dark gray hooded sweatshirt, with the hood pulled up around his face, blue jeans, and white tennis shoes.
Anyone who saw someone matching the suspect’s description in the area of the Celina Wine Store on Tuesday morning is asked to contact the Celina Police Department at 419-586-2345.
