LEESBURG, Ind. (WANE) A woman told police she had been confined for almost three days, and was beaten and strangled by her boyfriend until she almost lost consciousness.
Shane Lee Senter, 37, of Leesburg, was arrested on Friday night on preliminarily charges of battery resulting in bodily injury, criminal confinement, and strangulation.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call from a neighbor who thought a woman might be in danger from her boyfriend. When deputies arrived at the 300 block of Smith Street in Leesburg, they were unable to get anyone to the door.
They managed to get the girlfriend, the victim, on the phone and they believed her to be under duress. The boyfriend, Senter, also spoke with officers and agreed to go outside.
According to the police report, the victim walked out of the house disoriented and with bruises covering her face and neck as officers spoke with Senter.
The victim told deputies she had been confined for almost three days during which time Senter had hit her several times and strangled her until she almost lost consciousness. She was taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition.
Senter is being held at the the Kosciusko County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
