Man injured in weekend shooting identified

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - A man was critical condition after police say he was shot two times while walking on Sunday.

Just after 3:00 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the 1700 block of East Wayne Street in reference to a shooting.  When they got to the scene they found Christopher Lajuan Smith Sr., 30, suffering from two gunshot wounds.  Paramedics took Smith to the hospital in serious condition but he was later downgraded to critical. A condition update was not available on Monday.

The Fort Wayne Police Department said the victim was walking in the area when someone start shooting at him.  Witnesses said they saw a beige or silver Cadillac driving off after the shooting.  Police discovered a gun in the area.

No arrests have been made and there is no suspect description.
