FREMONT, Ind. (WANE) - A suspicious person complaint at a gas station in Fremont led to the arrest of a man found with a sawed-off shotgun and drugs in his vehicle.

The Steuben County Sheriff's Department released a statement that deputies responded to the IGA Shell in the 6900 block of North Old 27 Wednesday evening.

Police found the vehicle and person in the parking lot. After deputies conducted a short investigation they located a sawed-off shotgun inside the vehicle. A full search of the vehicle then found multiple items associated with the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

Police arrested Stephen N. Bickle, 53, on multiple counts, including: possession of meth, possession of a sawed-off shotgun, manufacturing meth, possession of a legend drug, maintaining a common nuisance, and possession of paraphernalia, according to the report.

Bickle is being held at the Steuben County Jail.

The Angola Police Department, Fremont Police Department, Indiana Conservation Officers, and Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab Team all assisted with the investigation.
