LaGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - Indiana State Police issued the following press release Sunday:
The Indiana State Police arrested a man from LaGrange County early this morning at a meth lab on two outstanding arrest warrants while looking into reports of multiple shots being fired.
At approximately 1:15 am, Trooper Brian Kreger, along with officers from the Ashley Police and Hudson Police Departments responded to a report of shots fired in the 6800 E block of County Road 800 S, just outside of Wolcottville. As a result of his investigation, Kreger was led to a residence in that area where a strong odor of ether was present. Jarrod D. Haines, 25 of Wolcottville allegedly saw the officers and ran to a back bedroom where he discarded items commonly associated with the production of methamphetamine out of the bedroom window.
After gaining permission to enter from an adult female in the residence, Kreger identified Haines and learned that he had two outstanding arrest warrants, one out of LaGrange County for escape and the other out of DeKalb County for a pseudoephedrine violation. Haines was immediately taken into custody without incident and incarcerated in the LaGrange County Jail. A search warrant was obtained and a search of the residence turned up more items commonly associated with the production of methamphetamine. Kreger’s case will be turned over to the LaGrange County Prosecutor for review for potential charges. The LaGrange and Noble County Sheriff Departments also assisted in the investigation.
ARRESTED:
Jarrod D. Haines, 25, Wolcottville, Indiana
-Arrest warrant for Escape out of LaGrange County
-Arrest warrant for Pseudoephedrine Violation out of DeKalb County
