STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) While on a welfare check, Steuben County deputies discovered evidence of methamphetamine manufacturing and arrested a man.
Around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, deputies and a detective responded to the welfare check at a house on Ln 301 A Barton Lake. While conducting the check, they found evidence of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Officials obtained a search warrant and then found evidence that methamphetamine was being manufactured in a detached garage.
Corey Alan Witsman, 24, was arrested and taken to the Steuben County Jail. As of Tuesday evening, he was being held on a $50,000 bond.
Witsman faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia and dealing/manufacturing methamphetamine.
Witsman is not the homeowner of the house on Ln 301 A Barton Lake.
