NORTH WEBSTER, Ind. (WANE) A man released from jail on Thursday was back behind bars on battery charges just five hours later.
According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, deputies responded to a fight-in-progress call at the Ponderosa Housing addition located southeast of North Webster. Officers arrived on the scene just before 6:30 pm and met with Johnny Isaac, 52, who was suffering from facial injuries.
Isaac told officers that Dakota Marcus Meade, 20, had come to his mobile home after being released from the Kosciusko County Jail. Isaac told Meade that he was no longer welcome to live there. Meade had been a resident at Isaac's home prior to his arrest and conviction in February on a theft conversion charge.
Isaac told police his wife had gone to collect Meade's personal belongings when he stepped outside and that's when a verbal argument escalated into a fight with Meade taking Isaac to the ground where he was hit several times in the head.
Meade then fled the scene but was captured a short time later in a nearby wooded area after an officer and his K-9 tracked him down. He was taken into custody without incident. Meade's bond was set at $500.
