FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - A man admitted to police that he took videos of women undressing at a tanning salon.
Allen County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Stephen M. Fox, 32, Monday and charged him with voyeurism. The manager at a Studio Tan location called them when a female customer came out complaining.
“She had went into the tanning booth area and she had noticed there was a cellphone that was hanging over basically the top of the wall and noticed a hand holding the cellphone,” said Jeremy Tinkel, Public Information Officer for the Sheriff’s Department.
Officers went to Fox’s house and found him inside. They say he cooperated and admitted to the crime.
“(The) suspect did admit to us that he had been videotaping women in the tanning salon for the past 30 days or so”, said Tinkel. “One of our officers did get permission, looked through the phone, and did find some video footage of some girls from the tanning salon that he was at.”
Officers also smelled a strong odor of burnt marijuana and when they asked Fox about it, he told them he had been smoking marijuana and had more in his bedroom.
There are three Studio Tan locations in Fort Wayne, but police aren't saying which location this happened at because they're still gathering evidence. “There may be other victims at this time, detectives are looking into it,” said Tinkel.
Fox is out on bond, but could be facing more charges if more victims are found.
