WARSAW, Ind. (WANE) A part-time staffer at Warsaw Community High School is facing voyeurism charges after three girls alerted officials about an iPhone attached under a desk that they believe was being used to take photos and videos of them.
Daniel Andres Zambrano, 35, of Warsaw, was charged on Wednesday with three counts of Voyeurism, all class A misdemeanor offenses.
Zambrano is support staff in the “English as a Second Language” program at the high school.
Last week, two 16-year-old girls and one 17-year-old girl told other school staffers about the phone.
During an interview with Zambrano on Thursday, October 18, he police say he confessed to the using the phone as the girls claimed.
The investigation determined that on numerous occasions between May of the last school year, and in the first three months of this school year, he was engaged in recording under the desks, and up the skirts or dresses, of females at the school.
Authorities also believe Zambrano may have engaged in the same practice outside the school at other locations with adult women as his target. Authorities don't have any evidence to that any personal relationships or sexual touching occurred with any students or anyone else.
The iPhone is still being examined and preliminary data from the device indicates still pictures and videos were contained in the phone’s memory.
